| The Society was founded in 1967 by the present Musical
Director Colin Moore and rehearses on Wednesday
evenings during term times at The Herne School, Crowborough. The Society's
accompanist is Derek Watmough MBE. Every year the society promotes two main concerts and a lighter style programme or concert performance of a show in the summer. The Society continues to actively promote a varied range of concerts of music from Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods as well as from the twentieth century, and to work with professional soloists of the highest calibre. The Society has sung to audiences in three countries and in four languages. Over the years it has sung over 200 works composed between 1565 and 1994. The Society is twinned with the Rellinger Kantorei from the Hamburg region of northern Germany and this has led to excellent performances in both countries. Members of the Rellinger Kantorei joined us in November 2000 for a performance of Theodora in Tunbridge Wells, and in November 2003 we joined them for a performance of Verdi's Requiem in Rellingen.
