Colin Moore
The Society’s Musical Director, Colin Moore, studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where he came under the influence of some of the leading musicians of the day, among them Sir John Barbirolli, Sir Malcolm Sargent and Sir Adrian Boult. He also studied conducting with Harry Newstone, well known as founder and Musical Director of the Haydn Orchestra, before embarking on a freelance career in orchestral playing, choral singing and music education. Full-time appointments followed with the East Sussex Music Department culminating in a position as a senior manager of the Music Service. During this time he founded Crowborough Choral Society, now one of the leading choirs of the South East. In 1997 Colin resumed a freelance career as double bass player, choral director and music consultant. |
