Rehearsals

The first rehearsal after our Easter break will be on Wednesday 10 April. Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays at the Crowborough Community Centre, Pine Grove, Crowborough TN6 1FE. We rehearse from 17.30 to 19.00. The hall in the community centre provides a large and well-ventilated space for singing, as well as ample car parking.

We don’t have formal auditions and no one will ask you to sing on your own, so why not come to a rehearsal and give singing with us a try? You can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome.

Here’s what one of our members says about us:

“My first performance with this wonderful choir! I joined in September and would highly recommend giving it a go. Everyone is welcoming, the rehearsals are fun and the singing is joyous.”

About us

Founded in 1967 by Colin Moore, Crowborough Choral Society has sung in six countries and in eight languages, and over the years has performed over 300 works composed between 1565 and 2012. Since April 2017, our Musical Director has been Mark Beesley.

The society generally performs two ‘classical’ concerts a year, and usually a programme of lighter music in the summer. We also perform Christmas carols at local churches.

The annual subscription is currently £125.

In addition to singing, the society organises a range of social events for members and their families and friends, including quiz evenings, barn dances and race nights. In recent years the choir has visited Poland, Spain and Hungary.
